XGIMI has a new projector dropping and this is one you’re going to want to pay attention to. Meet their latest $1,699 Horizon Ultra: 4K long-throw projector w/ Dolby Vision HDR and Harman Kardon audio. Now XGIMI made this projector standout in 3 ways.
- Now one of the things that makes this projector special is XGIMI’s display tehcnology. Its dual light system to combine LED + Laser light sources to provide their most color accurate and brightest image up to 2300 ISO Lumens.
- Another thing is XGIMI’s ISA 3.0 (Intelligent Screen Adaption) tech that can adjust for brightness, color, contrast, and screen scaling via its automatic optical zoom module. This also helps with autofocusing and adds eye protection by automatically dimming when someone walks in front of it.
- And lastly, the Horizon Ultra made with gaming in mind. It has a built-in gaming mode w/ 18ms low-latency that supports 4K@60fps up to its 200inch size image the projector produces.
Outside of that, the Horizon Ultra supports Bluetooth + Wi-Fi, is powered by Google TV and supported remote control, 2 full-range 12W Harman Kardon speakers w/ Dolby Audio support, and a total of 8 ports (including 2 HDMI 2.1, 2 USB 2.0, audio, LAN, optical, and Power).
We got a chance to check it out earlier this week and it lives up to the hype in its press release. Its a good size but not a massive mammoth to carry if necessary. The image produced from the Horizon Ultra is full of color, bright, and sharp. The speakers get full and loud which should suffice for using the projector otudoors but you have the Bluetooth and optical port for more sound output options. We checked out a 4K demo reel and played a few PS5 games on it like Stray and Rocket League and I definitely walked away impressed.
