In case you thought 2025 would end without the release of another phone, think again. We have the OnePlus 15R, the company’s budget flagship, which will share many features and specs with the OnePlus 15. However, the 15R offers more than its predecessor and costs $100 more, as it now starts at $700.

The OnePlus 15R features a 6.8-inch 165 Hz OLED display and is the first device in the US to be powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. It offers up to 16 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB of storage, and has IP68 and IP69/IP69K ratings for extra durability. The phone includes an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and boasts a massive 7,400 mAh battery—larger than the one in the OnePlus 15—that can charge from 0% to 100% in just an hour.

On the camera side, the 15R gets a slight downgrade from a triple rear camera setup to a dual system, consisting of a 50 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor. The 15R is also capable of recording in 4K 120fps slow motion. Both are powered by OnePlus’ latest Detail Max Engine, which is the company’s in-house image processing system. For selfies, the 15R features a 32 MP front camera with autofocus, helping to produce sharper selfies.

The OnePlus 15R will be available starting January 8 and will arrive in black and mint green options. Pre-orders kick off today on the OnePlus site, and other retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy will begin on January 8th. While it doesn’t include Qi2 magnets, OnePlus offers two $25 magnetic cases as alternatives: one in SandStone and the other with a hole pattern.

Those who opt for the larger 512GB storage option will get 2 free gifts (OnePlus Buds 4 and a OnePlus phone case), trade-in offers ($50 instant credit and a $50 Cash Back bonus), a student discount (5% off), and a bundle offer (Up to 30% off accessories). Our review should be live within a few days so lookout for it.
