ShiftCam was already killing it with mobile accessories geared towards mobile creators, but they definitely stepped things up for 2026. Last year, the company revealed the smallest SSD on the planet, and now we have a larger magnetic SSD with a built-in display. Meet the ShiftCam Planck Studio.
The Planck Studio is a magnetic SSD that can stick to the back of your iPhone or Android device and connects via your phone’s USB-C port. Its display shows off real-time transfer speeds and how much storage remains. Speaking of which, it arrives in 4TB or 8TB capacity options and transfer speeds up to 3,700MB/s via USB-C. The SSD also has built-in tracking support for Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find Hub networks to locate it if ever misplaced or stolen.
While targeted towards iPhone users, this can be an awesome solution for Android devices like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which also captures superb video. The ShiftCam Planck Studio is set to arrive in early March, with the 4TB starting at $400 and the 8TB starting at $600. ShiftCam also has smaller Planck SSDs, which plug directly into your phone’s USB-C port, dubbed the Planck Essential. It arrives in a 256GB size for $70 and a 512GB size for $100, and is available now.
