Sonos currently only has two portable speaker options: the $180 Roam and the $500 Move 2. Earlier this morning, Sonos announced its third and newest portable speaker. Meet the $300 Sonos Play, a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi speaker that completes the company’s portable speaker lineup.

The Play speaker retains Sonos’ signature cylindrical oval shape, like its other speakers, and weighs under three pounds, stands at 7.5 inches, and is 4.5 inches wide. It has physical buttons for play/pause, skip, replay, volume, and muting the voice assistant functionality on the top of the speaker.

It also includes a removable utility loop, which can be used to carry or hang the Play speaker. And since it’s designed to be used both inside and out, it’s IP67-rated to combat dust and water. Sonos suggests up to 24-hours of playback on a single charge and can be used as a power bank via USB-C charging.

On the audio side, the Play utilizes the best parts of the Era 100 speaker. It has a pair of passive radiators for bass, a midwoofer, and two angled tweeters—all powered by three amplifiers. It also supports automatic Trueplay to tune the speaker’s audio based on your surroundings, as well as EQ support via the Sonos app. Also, both the Play and Move speakers can be paired via Bluetooth for stereo output.

And speaking of the Era speaker, Sonos also announced the Era 100 SL, a new mic-less version of the speaker, and it is a little cheaper at $190 vs. the $220 for the standard Era 100 speaker. Both the Play and Era 100 SL are available for pre-order and go on sale at the end of the month.
