Amidst the Apple news yesterday, Google quietly announced a new change coming to its AI Plus plan. However, unlike the recent round of price hikes happening across nearly every subscription plan these days, this move is heading in the opposite direction. More specifically, more storage and access to select premium Gemini services for less money.

Effective yesterday, the Google AI Plus plan will now cost you $5 monthly, as opposed to the $8 monthly, and on the storage side, the plan previously offered 200GB and now 400GB. Outside of those changes, the provided features remain the same, including 2x Gemini usage limits, access to Gemini Omni and the new Daily Brief, and the AI Inbox coming soon to Gmail.

The news is courtesy of Vikas Kansal, Google’s Product Lead on Gemini AI subscriptions via X. The good thing is that you won’t have to wait to sign up, as it’s already available on Google’s site. Existing AI Plus subscribers should see their extra storage space in the next few days and the updated price on their next bill.
