Last week, the fitness OG Garmin unveiled its answer to the Fitbit Air, the $200 Cirqa smart band. This is Garmin’s effort to provide a screen-less fitness solution while offering advanced fitness and wellness features. The Cirqa is available now in French Gray, Mauve, Captain Blue, and Black colors.

The Cirqa arrives with an adjustable fabric strap to be worn on your wrist or as an armband. Its onboard sensors can measure your heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature, sleep, naps, steps, breathing, and automatically detect activity—all with zero subscription. Garmin can use these metrics to detect conditions like asthma and sleep apnea.

The smart band is quoted for up to a 10-day battery life on a single charge. It can also track over 80 activities, including running, yoga, strength, cardio, Pilates, golf, hiking, and more. This can be done via the Garmin Connect app or directly from the only button on the band.

I am curious to see how this one performs after using the Fitbit Air, which I thoroughly enjoy and wear daily. Despite costing $100 more than the Air, there are still many Garmin loyalists who will buy one with no question. Are you picking this up, or did you already buy an Air?
