Apple is looking to spread its wings further into all things smart home with its new Apple Home Collection of smart devices. The company teamed up with LG and Schneider Electric to provide an array of smart home devices, which include a security camera, a video doorbell, a door lock, and two thermostats. The Home Collection will go on sale starting in December, with select devices arriving in early 2027.

The collection is comprised of six devices, with LG crafting the bulk of them, and will work with the Apple Home app via Bluetooth and NFC.

  • Cameras & Doorbells: The LG Video Doorbell Wired starts at $249.95, the LG Floodlight Cam at $399.95, the LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In at $299.95 (available in Essence Graphite and Essence Silver in the U.S., Canada, and the UK), and the LG Indoor Cam Plug-In at $199.95 in Essence White.
  • Smart Locks: The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock starts at $349.95 in Essence Graphite and Essence Silver (U.S. and Canada).
  • Thermostats & Sensors: The LG Smart Thermostat starts at $199.95 and the LG Temperature Sensor at $39.95 in Essence White. The Schneider Home Smart Thermostat starts at $199.95 in Silver + White, and the Schneider Home Room Sensor starts at $39.95 in White.
  • Accessories: Installation accessories such as power adapters ($24.95) and trim plates ($14.95) are available separately.

Outside of Apple making these new devices, the focus is on providing a simple setup process, reliability, and data privacy via end-to-end encryption. The non-camera devices are compatible with other Matter platforms, while cameras and doorbells require Apple products due to proprietary local buffering and encryption processes.

And setting up these devices is quoted to be as straightforward as pairing other Apple accessories with your phone. Bring your iPhone close to the device you’re installing, follow the on-screen guidance, and it’ll be added to your Home app, where you can see more details.
