Earlier this morning, Motorola revealed all of the missing pieces from their Signature 27 flagship smartphone. Spoiler alert: it’s a spec-monster with an unfortunately price to match it. Starting at $1,600, it arrives with 12 GB of RAM but 512 GB of fast UFS 4.1 storage. Pre-orders for the Motorola Signature 27 start today and go on sale on November 19. Those who do reserve one will get a free Moto Watch Ultra smartwatch for free.
We’re already aware that it comes in black and olive colors, ships with the newest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, Bang & Olufsen-tuned speakers, Android 17 with seven years of updates, and a triple rear camera system that includes a 50 MP Lytia 910 main camera, a 200 MP periscope telephoto, and a 50 MP ultrawide. Now we know the rest of the spec sheet.
This includes a 6.8-inch 120 Hz Tandem OLED display, which is a two-layer setup for superior contrast and brightness and provides up to a whopping 12,000 nits of peak brightness. Yes, not a typo. It also arrives with an IP68/69 rating for complete dust and water resistance, a massive 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, Gemini AI features such as Rambler and Gemini tasks automation, its telephoto sensor offering 3x optical zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom, and a dedicated EVS action sensor for motion capture improvements.
Well, with OnePlus no longer operating in the US, Motorola appears to want to fill that void. On paper, the Signature 27 sounds like it can be the ultimate Android phone—albeit the price. However, we’ll have to wait and see if these features translate into the powerful phone it appears to be.
