After previous rumors, looks like the mobile version of Microsoft’s Office suite it’s finally making its way to a platform other than Windows Phone.  The Verge has gotten some details on what to expect from Office apps on Android & iOS.  But for all of productivity users don’t get excited just yet.

The free version of Office Mobile for Android & iOS will only allow you to view documents on the go that a Microsoft account is required.  An Office 365 subscription will be required to actually edit documents in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint on a basic-level.  Don’t expect the full capabilities from the desktop version of the Office suite.   This kind of makes the wait rather pointless when you can use Google Drive for free.

Office Mobile for iOS is said to launch sometime in late February/early March as the Android version will launch in May.

Below are a few screenshots from the iOS app.
