Last night, invites went out to the press for a ‘small’ Microsoft Surface event on May 20th. Leading many to believe that this will be the launch of the fabled Surface Mini that has been rumored to be in the works for over a year now.
With the title of “Join Us For A Small Gathering”, all signs would lead to yes – a Surface Mini is finally making way. What is know thus far about Microsoft’s Mini tablet is that it will sport a 7.5inch 1440 x 1080 resolution display, powered by a Qualcomm CPU, and more than likely running Windows RT. The tablet is said to shaped more like the iPad mini rather than the horizontal Surface tablets of past.
As many would prefer it to run full Windows 8, the Surface Mini sounds like a great PC tablet. Although it will have to compete w/ Lenovo’s ThinkPad 8 for the crown though. Whatever Microsoft plans to unveil, the end of the month will let us know if the rumors were right or not.
