Yesterday, Cadillac unveiled their newest luxury vehicle in NYC w/ the 2025 Escalade IQ.  This is a monster of an EV disguised as a full-sized, 3-row, 7-passenger SUV equipped w/ a 200kWh battery, range up to 450 miles on a single charge, and starting at $130,000.  Let’s dive into all of the particular and features about the latest from Cadillac.

I call it a monster due to its size, its 24inch tires, and out of up to 750hp + 785lb-ft of torque. This is achieved by its dual-motor eAWD system that works like independent powertrains. The latter is achieved through its Velocity Max mode which supercharges the new IQ to pull off 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds – similar to its supercharged V8 Escalade. And being an EV version of the Escalade, it still isn’t short on space. You get a total of up to 119 cubic ft of trunk space and up to 12 cubic ft of frunk space which Cadillac calls the eTrunk.

Everything about this Escalade IQ is large and so are its interior screen as it has a 55inch pillar-to-pillar LED screen.  Covering about 90% of its dashboard to display media, navigation, speedometer, etc. Below that is an 11inch control center that allows you to control HVAC settings, ambient lighting, and power open/close the doors. There’s a 19-speaker AKG Studio sound system which can be upgraded to a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference option or a 40-speaker variant w/ 360-degree immersive audio. There’s even a panoramic fixed glass roof that’s tinted & UV-treated.

The interior screens are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 12 Cockpit Platform which utilizes their 5G modem for connectivity.  Also added is Google’s software for navigation, hands-free Google Assistant commands, etc. But there was zero mention of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto support. However, you do have a heads-up display which is becoming more & more standard on vehicles which we love.

We already mentioned it being a 3-row, 7seater but you’ll have the option for an executive 2nd row feature. This will bring forth stowable tray tables, 2 12.6inch infotainment center, 2 wireless phone charging pads, a command center to control your HVAC + open/close doors w/ a touch of a button, HDMI + USB-C ports, and the joys of heated/ventilated/massaging seats w/ speakers in the headrest.

Cadillac equipped their newest w/ 4-wheel steering which they dub ‘Arrival Mode’ as its similar to the crab walk on the Hummer EV.  This feature can assist in getting in + out of tight parking spots.  The IQ will have the ability to tow up to 8,000lbs as well thanks to its independent front + rear suspension and their Magnetic Ride Control 4.0. But wouldn’t recommend as it will steal some range from you in the process.

The IQ’s motorized charge port door covers a CCS port that supports DC fast-charging. As far as charging goes, the IQ will support 800-volt charging w/ fast charging granting owners up to 100miles of range in only 10 minutes.

Like we previously mentioned, the Escalade IQ starts at $130,000 but maxed out w/ all of the bells and whistles, the specs being displayed int he marketing material has it at $175,000.  Not sure if that’s as high as it will go or not.  It will become available sometime in late 2024.
