Amazon enters the lifestyle TV market created by Samsung’s Frame by launching its Ember Artline TV. Announced at CES, the company’s new TV can display art and includes your choice of one of 10 magnetic frame colors, such as Walnut, Ash, Teak, Black Oak, Matte White, Midnight Blue, Fig, Pale Gold, Graphite, and Silver.
The Ember TV is ridiculously thin, measuring in at 1.5 inches, and has a 4K edge-lit QLED screen that mirrors its competitor with a matte screen that displays up to 2,000 pieces of art. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Wi-Fi 6, and the new Alexa+ AI assistant via far-field mics and motion sensors for nearby detection to activate or deactivate art mode.
It’s also utilizing the latest Fire TV software, which was also announced today, and offers better organization, the ability to pin more than six apps to your homepage, and overall faster speed. Although it is similar to the current layout of Google TV, hey, if it works, it works.
The Amazon Ember Artline TV will be available sometime later in the Spring, starting at $900. However, don’t expect a massive 75-inch size or larger, as it will arrive in only 55- or 65-inch sizes.
