As we enter day two of Apple’s new products, the company kicks off today with two new display monitors: the Studio Display, starting at $1,600, and the Studio Display XDR, starting at $3,300. Both will be available for pre-order tomorrow and go on sale on March 11.
The star of the show is the company’s new XDR monitor, which Apple claims is good enough to use for professional video editing and medical displays in hospital settings. The 2026 XDR monitor has a mini-LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2,000 dimming zones, up to 2,000 nits of HDR brightness, and improved color accuracy. Apple’s new high-end monitor also ships with a new stand that tilts and is height-adjustable and supports Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, which can double as a Thunderbolt hub providing up to 140W of charging power—strong enough to charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro.
The updated standard version is a 27-inch 5K Retina display with 600 nits of brightness, P3 wide color, an updated 12MP Center Stage camera, an upgraded three-mic setup, and a six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio. This also supports Thunderbolt 5 and doubles as a hub, but it maxes out at 96W and charges a 14-inch MacBook Pro. This entry-level monitor also includes a stand, as this one only tilts.
