And the final piece of Apple’s three-day product launch is the rumored, budget-friendly laptop. Meet the MacBook Neo: Apple’s newest entry-level $600 MacBook, which arrives in four colors: silver, indigo, blush, and citrus.

So what does a $600 MacBook offer in 2026? It has an aluminum design and a notch-less 13-inch Liquid Retina display with 2408 x 1506 resolution and 500 nits of brightness. The Neo is powered by Apple’s two-year-old A18 Pro chip, from the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro, which supports Apple Intelligence and provides up to 16 hours of battery life, and is coupled with only 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

The Neo also touts color-coordinated keyboards with Touch ID support present (unfortunately, only for the 512GB storage option), a multi-touch physical trackpad (not the Force Touch one in every other MacBook), and a 1080p webcam. Apple made sure to include two USB-C ports, with both for charging, and one can connect to an external display. There is a headphone jack present with dual mics and side-firing speakers that support spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. Lastly, there’s Bluetooth 6 and Wi-Fi 6E support on board for fast connectivity.

I’m not crazy about the name, but I do love that price point. Also, there’s no MagSafe charging or an SD card slot, so if you need the latter, you’re going back to dongle life.

As with the five other product announcements from Apple this week, the Neo is available for pre-order today and goes on sale on March 11.
