Yesterday, Nintendo held another Nintendo Direct presentation to unveil some new things—all Zelda related. In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda, the company announced the long-rumored Ocarina of Time remake for the Switch 2 console.
This is a completely redesigned take on the first 3D Zelda title for the Nintendo 64 that provides a Breath of the Wild-like detail for the company’s powerful console. Regarding its gameplay, it will mirror the original, as well as including the ability to jump, view your next destination, and hum tunes in the game as opposed to playing the notes via controller. Those of you interested won’t have to wait that long, as it’s due out on November 5th, which is the same month as GTA V. The Ocarina of Time will cost you $60 for the digital version and $70 for the physical copy.
Nintendo is also releasing a Zelda-themed version of the Switch 2 console in honor of the classic game. It’s armed with a golden Triforce on the dock and green Joy-Con controllers due out on October 29th, which is one week ahead of the Ocarina of Time remake. The company is also releasing a themed Pro Controller and carrying case as well.
And lastly, the live-action film officially has a title: The Legend of Zelda. Its cast has been set, and it is currently shooting to be released on April 30, 2027.
