We already know about Google’s Fitbit Edge, its upcoming fitness tracker, and now we have more details on its specs and capabilities. According to a new report from Dealabs, Google’s upcoming fitness tracker won’t be lacking in specs or sensors.
The Fitbit Edge is said to weigh 17.7 grams and feature an aluminum case with an IP68-rated body and a 5 ATM rating, along with an expected silicone strap. The Edge offers a 1.3-inch AMOLED screen with an Always-On display, a seven-day battery life, and runs Fitbit OS software with Gemini support for calls, messaging, app notifications, media controls, alarms, and timers.
It is reported to include an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, heart-rate sensor, SpO2 sensors, and a pedometer. The sensors will help track at least 40 sports and exercises with automatic activity detection and monitor steps, distance, calories, heart rate, ECG, skin temp, menstrual cycle, VO2 max, and AFib. Additional details also include new blood pressure and insulin resistance trends from the Pixel Watch 5.
Lastly, the report suggests a €179 price in Europe and £159 in the UK, which roughly converts to an $180 price tag here in the US. With all of this info being revealed, I can imagine the announcement from Google should be imminent.
