In addition to the new Fitbit Edge, Google wanted to grant some new goodies for the Fitbit Air as well. For starters, Google is adding another accessory to help dress up your look while wearing your Air. The company is adding a new metal mesh band comprised of a flexible, stainless steel weave to go from fitness to a fashionable fit while wearing your Fitbit Air. It will arrive in Champagne Gold or Polished Silver for $70, or buy one with a Fitbit Air for $150 at the Google Store or Target.
The Air is also getting improved automatic activity tracking and the addition of Health Guardian via Google Health. More specifically, workouts lasting 15 minutes with a sustained elevated heart rate are automatically logged. Be on the lookout for the update to arrive later this month to the Fitbit Air as well as the Edge and Pixel Watches 3, 4, and 5.
And speaking of Google Health, the app expands with additional partnerships. Google has teamed up with Flo Health for deeper cycle insights; Abbott to connect with their Lingo glucose monitor for improved diabetic measurements; MyFitnessPal for easier daily meal and nutrition log input; and Function Health for importing clinical lab results to the app.
