Earlier this week, the Internet was set ablaze with the numerous iPhone Duo reviews from various outlets and YouTubers—all with mostly positive results for a first-gen foldable. Despite the original model going on sale today, we’re already hearing rumblings of what to expect from the second-generation iPhone foldable.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is already hard at work on the next Duo, and the company may have found a way to implement Face ID underneath the display. The current Duo ships with the return of Touch ID onto the power button, which is the same for most foldables on the market due to their thin profiles. While using a fingerprint reader isn’t that big of a deal, I’m sure Apple users would gladly welcome the return of facial recognition.
Gurman also suggested that we could have the arrival of a third camera by the third generation, in the form of a dedicated telephoto sensor. The company is said to be testing its next-gen hardware for a fall unveil next year. However, there is no word on when the next iPhone Duo will actually go on sale.
