Bad news for any consumer who made any purchases w/ their credit card at your local Target retailer during Black Friday. According to reports, there was a huge security breach at the major retailer between November 27th to December 15th. Hackers stole names, credit/debit card numbers, expiration dates, and three-digit security for 40 million customers.
The good news is that other than the company is working hard to clear up the matter, customers will not be responsible for fraud. As an added bonus, the Target CEO will offer a 10% discount for all in-stores purchases made this weekend. If you haven’t already, cancel whatever debit or credit card used during that time period as that info is more than likely now on the black market. Surprisingly enough, online purchases made during that period was unaffected.
