Kia wanted to make sure they wanted dibs to beat everyone else from unveiling their newest car ahead of the North American International Auto Show. Introducing the Kia Stinger: a fastback sport sedan designed in Frankfurt, Germany.
The KIA Stinger: their new vision for sports sedan.
The design is a mesh of the Optima of year’s past w/ a look/feel of German engineering. A good amount of the exterior serves a purpose for improved aerodynamics. You have front air curtains, wheel arch gills, smooth underbody, integrated rear diffuser, and four tail pipes. Along w/ that you have the signature Kia grill and sitting in-between their LED headlights.
On the inside, you have Nappa leather counter seats, leather steering wheel, a center console w/ that’s split between infotainment & climate controls, and a color touchscreen to navigate through oil life, performance data, trip computer, settings, diagnostics, and more.
Under the hood you got the option for 2 types of engines: a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder w/ 255HP + 260lbs of torque or a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 w/ 365HP + 376lbs of torque. There’s also the option for rear-wheel or all-wheel drive as well. You got a heads-up display, option for a 720-watt, 15-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system w/ 2 subwoofers. The 2018 Stinger is set to arrive later this year. No word on pricing as of yet.
BTW, this is what the Kia GT4 Stinger concept looked before it became a production vehicle below from the NY Auto Show 2 years ago.
