Today at Google’s I/O Developer’s Conference, they introduced some new things coming to the table from Google. First they unveiled a new web video format, WebM, that uses the VP8 video plug-in to offer an open source, royalty-free way to do web video. We should expect YouTube playback support along with Opera, Firefox,Chrome and Adobe Flash support as well. Also they announced Google Maps and Android support with the new GM Chevy Volt. So you can expect Google Maps Navigation tied-in with OnStar services for a better way of getting around. Along with that Android (along with BlackBerry & iPhone) smartphone support with remote car locking, hit the horn, check tire pressure, and more. And lastly they have unleashed an app store for Google Chrome and Chrome OS to bring goodies to you netbook/laptop/PC experience. So now you can rock out with Plants Vs. Zombies, Lego Star Wars, TweetDeck, Dark Room (image editing app for $4.99)on your CPUs and they previewed an interactive Sports Illustrated online magazine.
