Sony brings something new to the table with this new lines of cameras. The NEX camera is a compact point-and-shoot with interchangeable lenses that make for a DSLR picture quality. The lenses (16mm or 18-55mm) allow for auto & manual zoom along with a 10x digital zoom. The NEX-3 does 720p HD video recording and the NEX-5 does 1080i full HD video recording. Both are armed with 14.2 MP, 3inch LCD screen, and the Sweep Panorama feature (by pressing the shutter & move the camera side-to-side or up and down, it puts together a bunch of frames automatically into one big panoramic shot). Although there isn’t a built-in flash, the camera comes with a flash add-on accessory. Although there isn’t much difference between the two models other than camera size and HD video specs, the NEX-3 is set to cost you $550 while the 5 is $650.
