Windows Phone users rejoice!! You now have two more tools for mobile entertainment w/ an official Hulu Plus and YouTube apps. Previously, you only had Netflix and knock-off apps at your disposal along with the web browser. Now you can enjoy content in high-quality video. More details below.
Hulu joins Netflix as you can now keep up with movies/TV shows current and a bit older. Unfortunately, the app is available only in the US & Japan as a Hulu Plus subscription is required of course. The app brings you Live Tile support with updates of shows and allows you to resume watching content from other devices. You can always try Hulu for free in case you never used the service.
Before this, the YouTube icon would just send you to the mobile version on the browser. Now you have a REAL app to use along with several features ready-to-go like:
- Pin any video, playlist, channel, and search queries to Live Tiles
- Manage your YouTube profile with your unique My YouTube page
- Manage your playlists, uploads, and video lists
- Find channels, videos, and playlists with the quick access search bar
- Share videos to your social networks, e-mail, and text messages
- Let your kids watch safe videos in Kid’s Corner and keep their own profile
Don’t fret WP7 users as the app will make its way to you in the very near future.
