With the momentum gained from the recent leak of BlackBerry 10 devices, RIM may lose some traction with today’s breaking news.  During their Q1 earnings call, RIM announced the cutting of 5,000 jobs and $518 million dollar loss for the BlackBerry-maker.  With more bad news, RIM’s BlackBerry 10 devices (which was scheduled for a launch this Fall) has now been delayed until early next year.   Originally the first BB10 device (all touchscreen) was set for an August announcement/ September release.  With the QWERTY keyboard BB10 device set to launch sometime within the 1st quarter of 2013.  Now it looks like both will launch around the same time frame (maybe weeks or months apart).   When it rains, it pours.  I hope RIM doesn’t run into any more problems.   I would love to see BlackBerry 10 get out to the consumers.
