Do you remember we told you about an email client named Sparrow.  As of this weekend Sparrow and Google have joined forces to create an email client more convenient on the iOS platform when looking into your Gmail.

Dom Leca, CEO of Sparrow, sent out a notice of acquisition to their users.  The talk of the web is this joining was done with just about 25 million dollars.  I think it was more about support for their team, clients, and future users especially since there will not be any huge new changes coming. Sparrow has been a great email client for both iOS and Gmail users alike.  One of the biggest setbacks has been the push mail notification when dealing with Gmail, but now that looks to no longer be a problem.  As Dom Leca said, “now we’re joining the Gmail team to accomplish a bigger vision — one that we think we can better achieve with Google.” Who knows maybe a better Gmail is on the way with the Sparrow team working it.  This may be the step in the right direction for Sparrow and making a more productive mail app for Gmail on iOS.

Weigh in and tell us what you think.
