Codenamed the M8, the latest Android flagship from HTC hasn’t been the best kept secret by far but it’s finally official and coming closer to launch.  Meet the new HTC One (or as I like to call it the 2014 Edition).  Instead redoing things over HTC decided to do some serious fine tuning.   Let’s dig into all of the new changes shall we?

The 2014 HTC One has been fine-tuned + polished to be better prepared for this year’s smartphone wars.
The new One sports a 5inch 1080p HD Super LCD display + 440ppi, powered by Qualcomm’s latest 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU, running Android 4.4.2 KitKat w/ Sense 6.0 UI + Extreme Power Saving mode, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage w/ microSD card slot (expandable to 128GB, Nice!), 2600 mAh battery, and the dual front-facing stereo BoomSound speakers are still present.  HTC retained the awesome all-metal aluminum body throughout as well.

2 rear-facing Duo f/2.0 28mm Ultrapixel Cameras + 5MP front-facing camera both capable of 1080p + HDR video. The Ultrapixel-powered DuoCamera captures true depth imagery for your camera within the 2nd lens on the top.  Allowing you to refocus the image after capture but not like the Instagram feature but more on an optical level.  As well as 3D rendering.  You can also adjust the manual settings of the camera and save the mode for future reference.

Sense 6 allows for custom design w/ your choice of wallpaper + graphics.  BlinkFeed adds a new layout and more content at your disposal as well as the option to turn it off – in case you’re not interested.  Foursquare and Fitbit are new partners to provide content to BlinkFeed.  Sense TV adds more social interaction along w/ live sports coverage.  Music on Sense now allows you to share your music w/ any Internet-connected speakers.

The 2014 One launches as an online today on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, & Verizon at 1PM EST for $199.99 on contract. Also at 1PM, you can walk into a Verizon store and buy one today!  HTC is looking for a full scale launch in April for AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.  And now time for some hands-on time with it. Look for it coming up shortly.
