ipad pro engadgetApple starts off w/ new Apple Watch band info and then went right into the new iPad.   This is definitely not the flow of their atypical event but I’m not complaining.   Introducing the iPad Pro.  The rumors were pretty much dead on about the the features/specs for the most part.

The iPad Pro touts a bigger 12.9inch high-res 2,732 x 2,048 display that will allow you to get a lot more done than your average iPad.  It will offer desktop-like performance w/ its new 3rd-gen 64-bit A9X CPU inside & double the graphics power.  Giving you 1.8 times the performance of the A8X from last year’s iPad Air 2.  Its beefy enough to run AutoCAD in 1080p @60fps as well as edit 3 streams of 4K video in iMovie.

Apple does its best Surface impersonation.

You now have a 4-speaker audio system to give the iPad something its never had before – great sound.  Some of you might be concerned w/ the display and battery life but Apple touts a 10-hour battery life so there’s that.  It will weigh in at only 1.57lbs which is just a tad heavier than the original iPad while still being 6.8mm thick.

Now onto the accessories for the iPad Pro.  We now have the new Smart Keyboard which is a woven-fabric physical keyboard that connects magnetically to snap on or off at your disposal.  Now for the stylus we have the Apple Pencil.  Yes, that’s the real name.  It has plenty of new sensors to measure sensitivity and accuracy.  It will be able to work w/ apps like annotating in Mail, drawing in Notes, and many more.

The iPad Pro, Pencil, & Smart keyboard will be out in November.  The iPad Pro starts at $799 for the Wi-Fi 32GB, then we have a 128GB Wi-Fi for $949, and lastly a 128GB Wi-Fi +LTE version for $1079.  I am actually interested in utilizing this to see how well it works or doesn’t work.
