Canon appears to have finally stepped up to the plate w/ their cameras – at least w/ their point-and-shoot anyways.  Say hello to their newest PowerShot shooter w/ the 4K capable SX740 HS.

So on the outside, it looks pretty much the same as their previous model: the SX730.  So it has the same 20.3MP sensor, a 24-960mm lens capable of 40x optical zoom, transfer media via Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, and a 3inch display that flips out 180-degrees which is ideal for vlogging.  What’s new is the Digic 8 image processor, dual-sensing optical image stabilization, a feature assistant to help choose the best shooting mode based on your environment, the ability to shoot continuous @7.4fps, and can record 4K video @30fps.

The PowerShot SX740 HS is set to arrive sometime in August in Black or Silver colors.  So w/ all of this and a $400 price tag, this might be the RX100 killer.  Will this be your new vlogging or YouTube camera?
