While we’re heavy in new phone mode for the month of October, Apple still has new hardware coming in the form of new MacBook Airs & iPads.  Right now we’re talking specifically about the iPad Pros.

Based on a new report from the folks over at 9to5Mac, a developer recently revealed that the 2018 iPad Pro would offer a USB-C port instead of a Lighting port.  One of the reasons for the change would be to output 4K HDR video to external displays.  Another benefit for USB-C would be for faster charging for their massive batteries inside.

The developer also suggests that Apple will ditch Touch ID here as well in favor for Face ID on their Pro line of tablets.  However, unlike the iPhones, Face ID here will work in both landscape & portrait modes.  There won’t be a notch present for Face ID here though.  We’re also supposed to get a new Apple Pencil w/ proximity-based pairing like the AirPods as well as a redesigned magnetic connector for its accessories.

We don’t know when the event is supposed to be but rumors have it for sometime this month as well.  Might as well at this point since everyone is unveiling something in October.

Thoughts on the new iPad Pro features if this comes to pass?
