After tons and tons of rumors, speculation, and wishful thinking; Verizon has acquired the iPhone as AT&T’s exclusivity is officially over.   Today Verizon announced the CDMA-version of the iPhone 4 coming February 10th w/ pre-orders beginning on February 3rd and the same pricing at AT&T’s (starting at $199.99 for a 16GB model w/ two-year contract).    You will be able to pick up the Verizon iPhone from your local Verizon retailer or Apple store.  Apparently Apple has been the cause of the delay as the two companies have been in talks about developing a CDMA iPhone since 2008.   The internal design is slightly altered as the antenna has been moved to prevent the antenna death-grip issues of AT&T’s model.   It will be worth the wait as Verizon’s iPhone 4 will be equipped with the ability to act as a mobile hotspot for up to five devices.    Very nice finishing touch VZW.   The VZW iPhone will just be 3G version, it has no 4G LTE compatibility.  Hit the link below to sign up to the notification page along with the official release.   I wonder if any other carrier will pick up the iPhone since VZW’s deal is non-exclusive?
