PC Magazine recently completed their Fastest Mobile Networks of 2011 which consisted of over 140,000 speed tests in 21 cities on all four major carriers.    And in just about all regions except for the rural parts of the nation, Verizon’s 4G LTE came out to be the winner.   The second carrier to place in most locations may surprise most of you as T-Mobile grabbed second place.   AT&T grabbed third throughout most of the country but bested the competition in rural areas.   And Sprint is left in dead last in their testing areas within the 4G battle.

We know first hand that Verizon rules the 4G speeds during our reviews on their LTE-equipped devices.   To coincide with PC Mag’s results, we averaged about 13-16Mbps on the download side of things and 3-6Mbps on the upload side of things.   These numbers will change sometime soon as AT&T will be launching the LTE network along with acquiring T-Mobile.   Leaving Sprint who may have already begun seeking LTE network options.   After the break there’s an image of their nationwide speed test results and the link for the full results of their testing.
