After countless rumors and leaks on what Apple will announce at the next big press event. With WWDC 2012 starting on Monday, we decided to break everything to that we anticipate based on everything. But as Tim Cook said during the D10 conference, this is only the beginning.
With the newest version of iOS to be unveiled for developers to get their apps started there are several things that we know of for sure. We can expect Siri to make its way to the iPad as well as becoming open to developers and adding more native abilities to become an even better personal assistant. Like what happened with Twitter in iOS 5, expect Facebook to get a system-wide integration throughout the OS. Having recently purchased C3 Technologies, a company specializing in realistic 3D mapping, expect this to replace Google Maps as the native Maps provider. Also adding native turn-by-turn navigation as well.
Rumored additions are widget support, new UI, redesigned App Store, and so on & so forth.
Along with software, Apple will unveils a new Mac lineup with some new features and refreshed bodies. The MacBook Air & Pros will get beefed up with more powerful Intel Ivy Bridge processors, NVIDIA graphics card options, USB 3.0 ports, slimmer frame, and the new Retina Display seen on the newest iPads. The iMac & Mac Pros are set to updated refresh as well.
Rumors suggest that the MacBook Pro will get rid of its optical drive and the iMac may have a Retina Display option.
The newest Mac OS, Mountain Lion, that brings more iOS features to the Mac will officially become available for all compatible Macs during or shortly after the announcement. And it looks awesome.
Possibly to become announced as well is a SDK for Apple TV that gives developers access to create apps for the streaming box.
Don’t expect any new iPhone news until their iPhone/iPod press event kicking off in the fall around October. Check back with us on Monday for all of the official announcements.
