I tell you one thing, Samsung knows how to throw a party. Last night we attended Samsung’s Galaxy Note II launch party in NYC. The usual suspects of journalists in the crowd, finger foods, free bar, and about an hour of Kanye West performing live. Back to why you are here. The new Note II by Samsung looks like the Galaxy S III and the S-Pen of the Note 10.1 tablet combined. The specs and software inside makes this thing its own type of beast.
- The screen is big, like really big. Not easy to get a true size in photos. This is a good thing. Bigger onscreen keyboard, more screen to view media and so forth.
- Equipped with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean gives users access to Google Now, which can be incredibly useful.
- Other than the bigger display & faster processor, it has everything you love about the Galaxy S III as nothing was removed.
- The software inside makes great use of the redesigned S-Pen. Improved handwriting recognition, simple execution of screenshots, the ability to create custom macros to open apps by drawing called Quick Command (example: you can open the calculator by drawing an equal sign), and Air View which allows you to preview photos/media/long messages by hovering the S-Pen over the desired icons.
We will of course get more in-depth in our full review on the newest Big Thing by Samsung. Look out for it.
