To the interested consumers looking to enjoy all of the fruits of BlackBerry 10, we have some news for you. The guys over at N4BB have uncovered a bit of news concerning the BBM Video Chat. Looks like the carriers are giving it the FaceTime treatment and requiring a change or additional data plan.
They tried to complete a BBM Video Chat and was met with a message stating AT&T users will require Wi-Fi access or to enable Video Calling. You will have to add a Video Calling plan to your data plan, to be more specific, add AT&T’s mobile share plan. N4BB already stated that Verizon already charges an extra $20 monthly to add the Mobile Hotspot data package to access FaceTime and future BB10 users should expect to pay for it.
This is something future BlackBerry 10 users in the US will have to deal with.
