Well it’s that time of year again.  The NYC Auto Show is just about in full swing.  We were there on the 2nd day for press and we thoroughly perused the area to see what new technology was being incorporated in the new 2013 – 2014 year for auto manufacturers.  While we there enjoying all of the new vehicles and our individual favorites, we also covered vehicles using more green/eco-friendly technologies.

Ford has challenged the tech world and app developers with creating an app to establish better fuel efficiency. I think there are quite a few developers willing to take that challenge.  The bigger concern is what will Ford do if they have developers that came to play, how will Ford take care of them?  How about $50,000?

Ford also was a manufacturer with the biggest push to making their vehicles more green/eco-friendly or as options.   We cover them in a bit more detail in the video below.

Many American manufacturers (like Ford, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Chevy, and Cadillac) came out with their Sunday best.   Pushing the design, options, and innovation features forward.   Chrysler and Doge incorporated Beats Audio inside as their premium audio provider along with built-in apps & better fuel economy.  But the imports didn’t come empty-handed either.  Companies like Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, & Honda showed off some great-looking concept vehicles.  Some of which, I hope will make its way to the assembly line.

For you fans of the exotic cars, they were present in droves.   You had the new line up of Rolls Royce, Bentley, McLaren vehicles on deck along with the Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Gallardos, Maserati Quattro coupe, Loutus, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Spyker, and more.

The NY Auto Show makes sure to make consumers a believer in the new electric/ hybrid vehicles.  They have an Electric Outdoor Ride and Ride for you to sit inside of an electric vehicle to experience it for yourselves.  You will have the option of a Ford C-Max Energi, Ford Focus Electric, Honda Fit EV, Mitsubishi I, Nissan Leaf, and Toyota Prius Plug-In.   It’s a short ride but you can get plenty of information form the drivers to see if one of these can be your next car in the future.

Along with all of the variety of electric, SUVs, exotics vehicles – Camp Jeep is definitely one of the reasons you should attend this year’s Auto Show.  Especially if you never driven or experienced off-road driving before.  You inside either a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon or Grand Cherokee driven by Jeep’s professional 4×4 drivers.  As they take you through their obstacle couse that includes a driving on a wedge that puts the vehicle on a 30-degree slant, wood planks on the road, and lastly an 18-ft high hill climb that puts you at a 35-degree angle going up and down it.  We have some video on it below.

Thanks again to NY Auto Show for having us attend, it was fun as we hope to return next year.
