Looks like we can finally expect some Google influence within the 2013 batch of Motorola Android phones. PC Mag talked with Motorola’s chief of design, Jim Wicks, and discussed some of what we can expect from their first wave of Google/Motorola Android smartphones due out sometime during the 2nd half of the year.
R.I.P. MotoBlur UI
Consumers can expect Moto devices that are ‘just right’ and not as big as some of the Android phones out there like say the Galaxy Note II or like-sized devices. I am anticipating a device size around the 4.5inch range but I’m not a gambling man. Moto is also taking an entirely different approach to design of their devices as well.
Motorola is looking unify their branding/design scheme as one vision seen throughout their devices as HTC did recently. This actually aligns with the report of a Google + Motorola flagship smartphone codenamed the X Phone. Sounds good to me. More like Google’s plans for Moto is finally coming into fruition: becoming Google’s official hardware partner.
