After being announced and giving our first impressions of it, the two higher members of the 2013 Droid family can now be yours. The Droid Ultra or the Droid Maxx is waiting for you at your local Verizon retailer. Sporting a 5inch Super AMOLED display, the Ultra runs Moto’s custom X8 8-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, runs Android 4.2.2, equipped w/ a 10MP Clear Pixel camera, 16GB of storage and a 2130 mAh battery. The Maxx is exactly the same thing but w/ a bigger 3200 mAh battery and matte Kevlar finish over the Ultra’s glossy, laminated Kevlar finish.
Both devices offer the same voice-activated & quick camera capture features seen on the Moto X along w/ a way to beam content to other 2013 Droids & Miracast-supported TVs called Droid Zap. Those who pre-ordered it, they have already begun shipping as some of you may already have it. We have an Ultra in-hand since last week and a full review should be on the site within a few days.
The Droid Mini will become available next week, on August 29th.
