Apple’s replacement in-between the iPhone 5 and whatever they are working on next is here.   Introducing the iPhone 5s: the most forward-think smartphone as Apple calls it.  This is not the iPhone 4S where all they did was add Siri and small handful of features.  This is more, much more.

The iPhone 5s is packing much more than any previous S model form Apple.

For starters, its powered by Apple’s custom-made A7 CPU that is sporting a 64-bit processor (like the kind found in desktop computers).  Offering 40x more CPU performance, 56x better graphics, and up 10-hours of battery life.  It also supports OpenGL | ES 3.0 support for improved graphic-intense games.  Coupled w/ a M7 motion coprocessor measures data from the accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass – ideal for health + fitness apps.  This 2nd processor allows it to work separate without taxing the primary CPU.

Apple talked highly of their new-and-improved camera system.  Still offering an 8MP rear shooter but now w/ a f/2.2 aperture lens + larger sensor for better low-light performance.  Also on-board is a dual-LED flash to get more true color in your image by using one cool, white flash & a warm, Amber flash.  Also added to the mix is auto image stabilization.  You have burst-mode that can takes up 10 photos per second and a Slo-Mo that records 720p HD video at 120 frames per second.

Last but not least is the anticipated fingerprint sensor Apple calls it Touch ID.  It is built into the Home button as it can read in any orientation and handle multiple fingerprints.  The new sensor allows you to touch to unlock, touch to authenticate purchases (iTunes, App Store, iBooks).

As you can see above: there is now a 3rd color option of Gold to the iPhones while Black has been renamed Space Grey.  Like the iPhone 5c, it will go on sale next week on the 20th w/ no word on pre-orders yet. The iPhone 5s will cost you $199 on contract for the 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB, and $399 for the 64GB.  The new iPhones will be available on all four major carriers at launch: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, & Verizon.
