Lo and behold! Here is the ‘budget’ iPhone all of the leaks and rumors pointed us to.  Meet the iPhone 5c: the iPhone 5 replacement.  No really.  When this launches, the iPhone 5 is getting discontinued.  More on it below.

Apple got rid of the iPhone 5 and replaced it w/ the iPhone 5c.

The new i5c pretty much mirrors the iPhone 5 in the specs department other than its hard-coated polycarbonate unibody shell.  You get a 4inch Retina Display, the same A6 CPU, 8MP iSight rear camera w/ a backside illuminated sensor, dual-band Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 support, a FaceTime HD camera that support FaceTime audio courtesy of iOS 7.

They do arrive in a variety of color for once.  You now have the choice of Green, White, Blue, Pink, & Yellow.

New $29 cases for the iPhone 5C

Pre-orders kick off on September 13th (this Friday) and will go on sale on the following week on September 20th.  The iPhone 5c will cost you $99 on contract for the 16GB model and $199 for the 32GB.  Pricing isn’t as cheap as many would like to see but that’s what it is.  The iPhone 5c will be available on all four major carriers at launch: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, & Verizon.
