Not to be outdone by Apple,  Samsung has announced that they will be putting 64-bit chips in their upcoming smartphones, mostly starting with the Galaxy S5.  JK Shin spoke with the Korea Times and is quoted as saying, “our next smartphones will have 64-bit processing functionality,” however, these devices will not come “in the shortest time.”  It is expected that Samsung will use the ARMv8 64-bit architect that ARM has been talking about for a while now.  The rumor pool is already buzzing about Android version KitKat (Android 4.4) possibly being 64-bit and the potential for a 64-bit Galaxy S5.  Only time can tell on this one.
