More news that could turn the little hockey puck into the Apple TV you’ve always wanted. Adding to last week’s rumors of added gaming + new UI coming to the small streaming box, 9to5Mac has more details on what’s else could be coming.

Apparently, Apple is testing the idea of integrating a TV tuner within the Apple TV giving you the ability to watch/control live TV through your streaming box. This is exactly where an entirely new interface would come into place. Apple may be taking cues from Microsoft (Xbox One) and Google (Google TV, Chromecast) in their approach to conquering the home. Another angle is that they could turn the Apple TV into a router by integrating the Airport Express as well.
Both are being tested as Apple could their streamer into the iTV without overcharging consumers after all. Or at least offer a cheaper alternative if iTV ever sees the light of day.
