Apple’s unconfirmed deal with Beats will give co-founders Dr. Dre + Jimmy Iovine more than just $$$. According to Billboard, Apple could bring the dynamic duo on as high-level executives. Their sources also suggest that Apple would introduce them to the world at this year’s WWDC happening next month.
Dre + Jimmy may get great new jobs at Apple.
While Dre’s role is currently unknown, Jimmy looks get quite the upgrade. Mr. Iovine is said to handle Apple’s music strategy for the company. This would consist of handling relationships with record labels and publishers. This would help tremendously as Apple hasn’t had the best relationships w/ the labels in the past as Jimmy can help change all of that.
Last week, it was reported that Apple is in the process of purchasing Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion as the deal is said to be made official sometime this week. Very curious to hear how this story plays out for all parties involved. We’ll continue to keep you posted.
