Just when we thought this could go south, it didn’t. It is now officially official. Beats is now part of Apple completely for $3 billion. The pricd consists of $2.6 billion in cash and $400 million in stock. That’s $200 million cheaper than the rumored price but I’m sure Jimmy & Dre aren’t complaining.
Apple + Beats = new music services & products.
BTW, Apple acquired both Beats Electronics (headphones/speakers) + Beats Audio (music streaming service). Both Jimmy and Dre will join Apple we presume on an executive level but no word on their official titles. The 2 companies will continue to create their products as 2 separate companies.
