Last night, Withings unveiled something different than what we’re used to seeing for a smartwatch w/ the Activite. While this doesn’t display alerts + notifications like Android Wear or Pebble, this is not your standard watch. The Activite is a Swiss-made masterpiece that is also an activity tracker on the low.
Think of the Activite as a FuelBand that Movado made.
Priced at $390, the Activite can monitor your steps taken, track your caloric intake, sleep monitoring, and swimming tracking. All within a touch responsive sapphire screen w/ a French calf leather interchangeable band, vibration for alarms, and a 2nd hand that monitors your movements. The watch will connect to your iPhone via the Withings app via Bluetooth LE to record all of your data.
The Activite is due out this fall and will be compatible w/ iOS at launch.
