Lenovo always keeps it coming w/ an innovation on the computing side of things. They have teamed up w/ NEC to bring forth the new LaVie Z – the world’s lightest laptop 13inch laptop. The 2 companies united to utilizes Magnesium-Lithium alloy to create its shell.
The LaVie HZ550 weighs in at only 1.72lbs measuring at 16.9mm thick that feels like a dummy laptop. But believe it or not, it has power. Inside lies an Intel 5th generation Core i5 and IGZO displays. But they have more than just one laptop. They have a 13inch convertible model HZ750 that’s just a bit heavier as it weighs in a 2.04lbs. The HZ550 offers 5.9 hours + the HZ750 offers close to 9 hours of battery life.
Both styles of the LaVie Z will launch this May in the US. The HZ550 w/o a touchscreen will cost you $1,300 and convertible model HZ750 will set you back $1,500.
