In the wee hours of the night, Canon removed the curtain off of their newest shooters. One of them being the new high-end 5Ds + 5Ds R. Looks like the rumors where right as these are full-frame shooters armed w/ a 50.6MP sensor. Yes, a 50MP shooter. If you were to shoot w/ cropped APS-C lenses, you would still get 19MP images.
This is for the 5D Mark II + III owners out there.
Along w/ the insane amount of MPs you still get a 61-point autofocus, 5fps, powered by dual Digic 6 image processors, a 3.2inch LCD display, a vibration control system to combat camera shake, support for both CF + SD, NFC + Wi-Fi support, YSB 3.0, HDMI out, but no headphone jack though. Sorry guys, no 4K video though. Canon is one of the many camera companies that believe that the UHD video format isn’t ready for them yet. You do have 1080p video at 24, 25, 30, 50, and 60fps though.
Both shooters will be out in June w/ the 5Ds priced at $3,700 and the 5Ds R priced at $3,900.
