Now that there’s a new sheriff running the Google Glass department, we could only assume that the retail version is on the way. A report from the New York Times yesterday pretty much confirms it along w/ other tidbits as well. Nest founder/CEO Tony Fadell is starting from scratch in regards to the look of Glass.
Creating a new vision of Glass (no pun intended) that has zero ties to the original Explorer Edition. Don’t expect an Explorer Edition this time around as he’s not seeking public experimentation. He and his team will be working w/ Ivy Ross who is a jewelry designer who runs Google’s smart-eyewear team. Fadell has always been a product guy (dating back to the design of the original iPod Touch) as he won’t release it until he thinks its ready.
Having demoed the Explorer Edition, I am quite curious to see what a redesigned version will look like as well as that price tag. How about you?
