Yesterday Google unveiled an array of new and affordable Chromebooks + Chrome OS products. If you didn’t know or thought they were a gimmick, Chromebooks + Chrome OS is here to stay. They’re killing it in the education market, here and abroad.
Chromebooks are now start under $150.
We now have 2 new players into the Chromebooks arena w/ the Haier and Hisense. The Haier model will be an 11inch laptop sold at Amazon and the Hisense model will be at Walmart. Both have longer battery lives and is available for pre-order for $149. ASUS add a new element w/ a convertible Chromebook w/ the Flip. It will offer a premium, all-metal design starting at $249. Also from ASUS, is something entirely new w/ the Chromebit -an HDMI stick powered by Chrome OS. Allowing you to turn your TV into a Chrome OS device. Powered by a quad-core Rockchip 3288 CPU, Mali 760 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a USB port, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.0. Of course you’ll need to use your own mouse + keyboard to work. It will only cost you $100 and launching this summer.
Expect more Chromebooks ranging from 11.6inch to 15inch from $199 to $499 within the next months Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and LG.
