We know pretty much enough about Google’s forthcoming wireless network to not be too surprised at launch. We anticipated the official launch to be sometime around or during Google I/O next month but a new report suggests that we could get it sooner than later.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the it may become unveiled sometime within the next 24 hours. They have it pegged to be official sometime tomorrow. The report also says customers will pay only for the data used instead of buying a set amount per month.
Google’s wireless service isn’t supposed to compete w/ the majors. It is supposed to run on Sprint & T-Mobile’s networks and switch off to whoever has the strongest signal including Wi-Fi. The service is set to run only on Google’s Nexus 6 at launch. Not sure if that will change in the future.
