More details emerge for Samsung’s new round smartwatch. They released their SDK for the new wearable yesterday as they aim to throw their hat in the arena of Android Wear & the Apple Watch. As they have a new feature to combat Apple’s digital crown.
Round is the new square smartwatch.
This will offer a rounded 1.65inch display w/ a 360 x 360 resolution + 305ppi, running Tizen OS of course (just in case you thought it would be Android Wear), 2G connectivity, GPS, heartbeat sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, pressure + magnetic sensor. It may not have any buttons on board as it will utilize a rotating bezel for navigation alongside its touchscreen. Twisting it will allow you to see different screens, go to the next item, and zoom into a photo.
Although I’m not a big fan of Tizen just yet, this is very interesting and definitely has my attention. What’re your thoughts on this?
